Women in Power?????????????
I know a little bit about women in power; for amongst others, powerful women such as Verna Fields were friends of mine.
Fields spent over 30 years as a film cutter before being recognized as a creative force. She always wanted to break into directing; but never did. And it was only after she cut `Jaws` (reconceiving some of the shooting) that she was given a top job at Universal Studios. She held the job for about 3 years, when she died of cancer.
But during those 3 years, she had a terrible time. The little male power gods hated her and on a visit to a set for one of the films which Universal was producing they called her `Moby D****` and refused to talk to her. Uh, she WAS the executive in charge of production but simply wasn`t being allowed to do her job.
Compare that with Lillian Burns, MGM`s female power fatale. Lillian sucked up to all the sexism and racism of the era, and was idolized, lionized, etc.
So there ARE two kinds of women.
Here's a thought -- maybe Verna Fields was difficult to get along with, yet Lillian Burns was easy to get along with?
Women, like men, have to get along in the workplace. This is the dual-edged sword of equality; what one gender has to do, so does the other.
Every one of your posts whines about something. Try a different approach.
