Angle Drill Driver
How can I mount a visibility mirror on ends of my van?

I have a Ford Aerostar mini-van, which has poor visibility below the hood and behind the rear hatch. I have mid-sized movable mirrors, each on a stick-mount for the ends, so I can see objects in front of, or immediately behind, the vehicle. I wish to mount these mirrors with screws using holes in the stick-mounts, and adjusting mirror angles after mounting. My problem is clever positioning of the mirrors before drilling into the van body so visibility is optimized when I sit in the driver seat. I have no helper and I don't believe adhesive tape will hold the mirrors properly for testing trial positioning. I'd rather not drill and find repositioning of the mounts is necessary. Perhaps an answer can tell me of proven techniques.

Have you tried magnets? We used them to hold pieces in place for welding.
